The larger stone has been removed and replaced with crushed limestone to allow for easier travel around each dog park area. The crushed limestone is a smaller material and allows for better compaction, proper drainage and more level surface for people and dogs alike. Because the crushed limestone is finer and smoother, it is better for dog’s paws and easier for those with mobility challenges to navigate around the park on a stable surface.

Improvements to the stone pathways at the Northbrook Dog Park, located at Coast Guard Park, began on Wednesday, December 15. The Dog Park will be closed on weekdays until work has been completed. On weekends, the large area for all dogs will remain open, however, the small dog area will remain closed.
