The welcome mat is always out at the Senior Center, which delivers dozens of programs, special events, trips and services to enhance the quality of life for adults age 65 and older.

Membership Benefits

Senior Center members enjoy a wide variety of free programs and activities with others who share their interests. The annual membership fee is $30 for Northbrook Park District residents and $45 for non-residents. Call us at 847-291-2995 or drop on by to learn more.

Senior Center Programs

Programs

Senior programs featuring a variety of familiar and new activities are available, including group fitness, art, Mah Jongg, technology classes and special events.

Humanities

This discussion group focuses on short fictional stories and famous speeches. Group leader Bill Schwartz assigns various readings to be read in advance to prepare for lively discussions and shared ideas.

Current Events Discussion

Join the conversation at the Senior Center’s Current Events Discussion Group! Connect with others as you talk about the latest topics in the news.

Special Events

Choose from several events held monthly at the Senior Center including themed holiday parties, guest speakers, Lunch and a Movie, TGIF Bingo and Lunch and Lunch & Learns. We also offer a variety of art classes and workshops.

Sewing and Crafts

Members receive help and companionship as they enjoy their crafts.

Knitting and Crocheting Club

On Wednesday mornings, members gather to share their hobby from 10am-noon. Instructor Hanc Weiner provides instruction for all skill levels.

Art Studio

Enjoy creating art with guidance from professional instructors.
