The Northbrook School of Dance offers a recreation-based approach to dance education with caring, professional dance instructors. For more than 30 years, the award-winning Northbrook Theatre has presented “theatre by youth for youth.” Youth Company actors are in grades 3-8 and perform age-appropriate plays and musicals suitable for family viewing.
Northbrook Theatre's award-winning Community Theatre program auditions for their annual production in March and performs in June. Community Theatre productions have included "Oliver!", "Big Fish", "Mary Poppins" and "Wizard of Oz". This program is open to adults and youth 9 years old and above.
This professional theatre company is dedicated to presenting the highest quality shows to and for young people and family audiences. We operate under a Theatre For Young Audiences Agreement with Actors’ Equity Association, the national union of Actors and Stage Managers.
The North Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA) produces this theatre program for teens with special needs. Participants are joined by volunteer Creative Companions (CCs) and Northbrook Park District Theatre staff to help facilitate a professional production.
