Drama classes are geared to help develop children in the arts with engaging activities that include, art, drama and dance.

The Northbrook School of Dance offers a recreation-based approach to dance education with caring, professional dance instructors. Our mission is to introduce students to dance while building self-confidence, poise and physical well-being. Our teachers are dedicated to providing quality instruction through positive reinforcement.
3-5 Years Old
Learn dance styles from around the world with Dancing Adventures. Each week the camp will explore a new country with stylized dances and art activities. Music, movement, balance and basic steps are introduced in a fun, friendly and positive manner. A snack is provided.
5-7 Years Old
Step into the spotlight! This camp combines an introduction to theatre with recreational activities. Campers are immersed in a theatre production, working on sets, costumes and props, ending with a performance on stage.
8-13 Years Old
This Workshop will allow actors to select from two tracks that offer unique experiences. The Musical Track focuses on a musical production that will be performed at the end of each session. The Elective Track allows participants the opportunity to experience singing, drama, dancing and technical theatre more in depth.
For more than 30 years, the award-winning Northbrook Theatre has presented “theatre by youth for youth.” Youth Company actors are in grades 3-8 and perform age-appropriate plays and musicals suitable for family viewing.
Northbrook Theatre's award-winning Community Theatre program auditions for their annual production in March and performs in June. Community Theatre productions have included "Oliver!", "Big Fish", "Mary Poppins" and "Wizard of Oz". This program is open to adults and youth 9 years old and above.
This professional theatre company is dedicated to presenting the highest quality shows to and for young people and family audiences. We operate under a Theatre For Young Audiences Agreement with Actors’ Equity Association, the national union of Actors and Stage Managers.
The North Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA) produces this theatre program for teens with special needs. Participants are joined by volunteer Creative Companions (CCs) and Northbrook Park District Theatre staff to help facilitate a professional production.
