The Northbrook Park District has six batting cages in Techny Prairie Park and Fields to provide more intensive practice for ball players and a warm-up facility for teams. All six machines pitch baseballs, and four of the machines can pitch 12” softballs. Players can choose the speed of the balls.

Advance Reservation (Recommended)
Reservations secure a batting cage stall and must be paid for in advance online. Walk-ups may be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis if capacity limits allow. Batters are required wear a helmet. You may bring your own helmet and bat. Helmets and bats are also available to rent at no cost.
Fees • $17 per 30-minute reservation (unlimited pitches); $2 per token (12 pitches) or $10 for 6 tokens (72 pitches)
Group Rentals
Interested in renting the batting cages? Email rentals@nbparks.org or call 847-291-2993 to reserve. Minimum 1-hour rental required. Rental includes exclusive access to all six batting cages.
Fees • $150 per hour (unlimited pitches)
