Project Construction In Progress99% Completion

99% Complete

The Northbrook Park District is excited to announce the start of the upcoming playground equipment replacement project at Countryside Park, located at 2075 Walnut Circle.

In addition to the playground replacement, new park benches and drinking fountain will be installed. Repairs will also be made to sidewalks throughout the park. The playground equipment was installed in 2001, is now 22 years old and has approached the end of its life cycle.

To gather the community’s opinion, the District sent out two mailings to the Countryside Park neighbors in 2022. The first was a survey to discover how the playground is used and what type of playground equipment residents would like to see in this park. The second was an invitation to vote on two playground designs developed from the survey results.

The winning playground, pictured below, was selected by the neighborhood with 68.75% of the vote.

Construction is currently scheduled to begin on or after March 20, with completion in late May 2023. Please note, the playground replacement timeline is dependent upon supply chain and equipment delivery as well as weather conditions. During the replacement, the playground is a construction site and caution should be taken in the area.

While the playground is closed, the closest playgrounds can be found at Williamsburg Square Park, located at 200 Lee Road and Greenfield Park at 2950 Harbor Lane.
