The Northbrook Park District continues the planning process for renovations in 2024 at Greenfield Park, 2950 Harbor Lane. This playground was installed in 2003 and is reaching the end of its life cycle. Currently, this 4.9 acre park offers T-ball fields, a softball field, a half basketball court, open space and a playground. This project currently includes the removal and replacement of the playground equipment, the installation of ADA access to the basketball court and seating area and renovations to the basketball court.

Northbrook Park District is excited to announce the start of the park renovation project at Williamsburg Square Park, 200 Lee Road. The Park District received a $600,000 Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) Grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to partially fund this project and we are excited to bring new and improved amenities to this location!

Oaklane Park Renovation Project

The Northbrook Park District is excited to announce the start of the upcoming renovation project at Oaklane Park, 636 Berglund Place. Construction began in April 2023 with project completion scheduled for late fall of 2023. This park is closed until construction is completed.

Meadowhill Aquatic Center Bathhouse and Mechanical Upgrades Project

The Meadowhill Aquatic Center Bathhouse and Mechanical Upgrades Project has been identified as an eligible project for an Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) in 2024. To gather the community’s input regarding project plans for upgrades, the District is hosting an open house on Tuesday, August 1 from 6-7:15pm at Meadowhill Aquatic Center.

Leisure Center Renovation Project

The Leisure Center Renovation Project has been identified by staff as eligible for a Park and Recreational Facilities Construction Program (PARC) grant award through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). This grant application is a priority as Northbrook Park District continues to enhance our community by providing outstanding services, parks and facilities through environmental, social and financial stewardship.

The Northbrook Park District sees the potential donation of land from Erickson Senior Living as an opportunity to preserve open space and provide recreational services to the community. Park District staff and consultants are working diligently to understand the condition of this property located at the former Green Acres Country Club site.

Wescott Park Playground Replacement Project

The Northbrook Park District continues the planning process for the replacement in 2024 of the play structure for 2 to 5 year olds at Wescott Park, 1820 Western Avenue. This playground was installed in 2005 and is reaching the end of its life cycle. Currently, this 4.1 acre park offers softball fields, a playground and walking path. Future plans include the installation of new tot playground equipment in the existing curbed space.

Stonegate Park Playground Replacement Project

September 29, 2022

Northbrook Park District is replacing the playground at Stonegate Park, 3425 Whirlaway Drive. This playground was installed in 1999 and is 23 years old, which is the end of its life cycle. The rubber surfacing is peeling, and the equipment is rusting and cracking. Soil borings, planning, and construction documents for the park improvements will be completed in 2022, and bidding and replacement is scheduled to be completed in 2023.
