Northbrook Park District plans to make improvements to the tot playground at Wescott Park, 1820 Western Avenue. This playground was installed in 2005 and is reaching the end of its life cycle. Currently, this 4.1 acre park offers softball fields, a playground and walking path. Future plans include the installation of new tot playground equipment in the existing curbed space.
Northbrook Park District plans to make improvements to the playground and amenities at Greenfield Park, 2950 Harbor Lane. This playground was installed in 2003 and is reaching the end of its life cycle. Currently, this 4.9 acre park offers T-ball fields, a softball field, a half basketball court, open space and a playground. Future plans include the installation of new playground equipment in the existing curbed space, installation of ADA access to the basketball court and seating area and the completion of color coating and further structural evaluation of the half basketball court.
Northbrook Park District is replacing the playground at Stonegate Park, 3425 Whirlaway Drive. This playground was installed in 1999 and is 23 years old, which is the end of its life cycle. The rubber surfacing is peeling, and the equipment is rusting and cracking. Soil borings, planning, and construction documents for the park improvements will be completed in 2022, and bidding and replacement is scheduled to be completed in 2023.
– 0% Completion On August 24, the Board of Park Commissioners approved a resolution to support application for an Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). Northbrook Park District is replacing the playground at Countryside Park, 2075 Walnut Circle. This playground was installed in 2001 and is 21 years old.
