Northbrook 4th of July Parade applications are now open and community groups are invited to be a part of this decades-old Northbrook tradition. The 4th of July Committee, comprised of staff members from the Village of Northbrook and the Northbrook Park District, is currently accepting applications through Thursday, June 15.
The Leisure Center Renovation Project has been identified by staff as eligible for a Park and Recreational Facilities Construction Program (PARC) grant award through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). This grant application is a priority as Northbrook Park District continues to enhance our community by providing outstanding services, parks and facilities through environmental, social and financial stewardship.

Parking lot sealcoating is scheduled to begin at Leisure Center between Monday, May 1 and Wednesday, May 10. Sealcoating work will be dependent on weather conditions. While work is underway, parking will be made available either around the Leisure Center or in the West Lot.
April showers bring May flowers, and the weather around Northbrook lately has kept many couped up indoors. Northbrook Theatre for Young Audiences (NTYA), a professional theatre company, is offering an entertaining production for the parents and caregivers at home trying to keep kids busy during these rainy Spring months. Wake Up, Brother Bear! runs April 30 – May 13 at the Northbrook Theatre.
Make a splash at Northbrook pools this Summer! 2023 pool season passes are on sale now for the Northbrook Sports Center Pool and Meadowhill Aquatic Center. A special early registration fee is being offered through May 1. Daily passes and ten-visit splash passes will also be offered this season.
The Wood Oaks Green Park Tennis Building roof was installed in 1986, now 37 years old, and is scheduled for replacement. Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, April 10 with estimated completion Friday, April 14.

The Northbrook Park District is making improvements to the pathway connecting Meadowhill Park to Techny Prairie Park and Fields this spring. During the renovation, the pathway is a construction site, a portion of the path will be closed as noted below and access will not be possible between the two parks. The project is scheduled to begin Monday, April 17 with estimated completion by mid-May.
