The upcoming play by Northbrook Theatre for Young Audiences features adaptations of four popular children’s books with a whopping 75 adorable puppets on stage.
“The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show” runs November 16 to December 4 and includes “Brown Bear, Brown Bear,” “Little Rubber Ducks,” “The Very Busy Spider,” and of course, the star of the show, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” all by author and illustrator Eric Carle.
This critically acclaimed production created by Jonathan Rockefeller will have all sorts of puppets, including fireflies, apples, pelicans, sheep, octopuses, dogs, pears, polar bears, frogs, dolphins, butterflies and many more.
The play is directed by Kate Sullivan Coombs, who said the show “is a unique opportunity for audiences of all ages to reawaken the magic of childhood and experience Eric Carle’s timeless stories brought to life on stage.”
Northbrook Theatre for Young Audiences productions are performed by professional actors. The show is geared toward ages 2 and up. Tickets are $17.
The November 16, 23 and 30 performances will be followed by a Caterpillar Crumbs Workshop opens in new tab, a cookie-decorating class for children accompanied by an adult (separate $29 ticket fee per pair).
