Always a springtime family favorite, the Northbrook Park District’s Brunch with the Bunny will be back on Saturday, April 11.

This festive egg-licious event taking place at Techny Prairie Activity Center will include brunch offerings, spring-related arts and crafts, and one last chance for the season to meet and take pictures with the Spring Bunny.

“Families are invited to celebrate with us the arrival of spring,” Recreation Supervisor Maria Warren said. “Spend quality time together, eat yummy food and have fun watching kids participate in a good ole egg hunt. Plus, it’s always nice to get a new family picture with the Bunny!”

Residents Dana and Joe Leaf are looking forward to attending the event with their 5-year-old daughter Amelia, after having a great time last year.

“We really enjoy being able to spread the Easter holiday cheer and celebrate the season,” Dana Leaf said. “Just like everything with the Park District, everything is done with such a high level of detail and it’s run so well — you really get every penny of what you are paying for!”

Brunch will feature catered food from Lee N’ Eddies opens in new tab, including loaded cheesy tater tot casserole, rigatoni in vodka sauce, chicken Limone and French toast casserole.

Children can enjoy a variety of garden crafts and abstract egg art, as well as spring-themed games in the gym like “toss the carrot” and “put-put Bunny.”

The morning will conclude with an egg hunt inside and outside of Techny Prairie Activity Center. The egg hunt is well-organized and great fun for the children, Dana Leaf said. “There are some egg hunts where the older kids hog all the eggs, but here it was equally distributed and everybody was really respectful, so all the kids were happy!”

The event is from 10am-11:30am on Saturday, April 11 at Techny Prairie Activity Center, 180 Anets Drive in Northbrook. The fee is $39 for residents and $49 for nonresidents (fee is per person). Children under 2 years old can attend for free. Pre-registration is required.
