Project Summary

Shade structures have been installed at the Heritage Oaks Golf Club Practice Range over the winter of 2026 to enhance comfort and safety for range patrons and Northbrook Golf Academy participants. The shade structures will offer 99% UV protection, reduce temperatures by 15-20 degrees, and improve visibility of phone and tablet screens for TrackMan Range app use. Project Summary

As a part of Park District’s commitment to taking care of our what we have, we are budgeting for fencing replacements District-wide. The fence structure at Meadow Road Tot Lot is scheduled for replacement in 2026. Due to scheduling and availability of materials, this project was completed during a brief break in the weather in January of 2026. We replaced just the wood panels and hardware, leaving the metal posts in place. This fence separates District property from the train tracks.

Project Summary

In December 2025, improvements were made to the stone pathways at the Northbrook Dog Park, located at Coast Guard Park. The crushed limestone is a smaller material and allows for better compaction, proper drainage and more level surface for people and dogs alike. Because the crushed limestone is finer and smoother, it is better for dog’s paws and easier for those with mobility challenges to navigate around the park on a stable surface.

Project Summary

Erickson Senior Living released a statement on May 10, 2023 that they would not be moving forward with the development of the Green Acres Country Club property. Throughout discussions, Northbrook Park District has been excited by the prospect of working with the developer and the Village of Northbrook to preserve open space and provide recreational opportunities at this location. As additional opportunities arise for land acquisition, the Northbrook Park District will continue to engage with residents and keep their interests a top priority.
