Just as the air turns crisp and the leaves begin to change, the annual Northbrook Autumnfest will once again offer fall-tastic entertainment for kids and families. The free festival is sure to draw enthusiastic crowds from 2-5pm on October 7 at Meadowhill Park, 1479 Maple Avenue in Northbrook.
“Come celebrate the beauty of all things fall,” Youth Programs Manager Nancy Eschker said. “Families will delight in all this year’s offerings.”
There will be crafts, face painting, a pumpkin patch (one per child while supplies last), pumpkin decorating, pumpkin chucking, music and even a petting zoo with a pony wheel. Children can ride in style on a trackless train. And of course, it wouldn’t be a proper fall celebration without s’mores and cider. The Northbrook Public Library opens in new tab will offer crafts at a special table. There will be a small bounce house and a drum circle inside the Ed Rudolph Velodrome, adjacent to the park, which families can access throughout the day.
For the first time this year, Autumnfest will kick off with a special sensory friendly hour that required preregistration. No more spots are left for sensory friendly hour.
