The Northbrook Park District has launched a redesigned website that delivers top-notch user experience with enhancements to visuals, content and navigation.

“The website is essential to our communication efforts, and we are excited to bring to the community this phenomenal redesign that features both functional and aesthetic upgrades,” Northbrook Park District Director of Marketing and Communications Joan Scovic said. “This is the thoughtful result of an in-depth analysis of external and internal user feedback, and we are extremely pleased to provide a much-improved experience for our users.”

The new website’s improved features include:

  • Modern and engaging graphics
  • Clean, organized homepage
  • Intuitive navigation
  • Augmented search functionality
  • Direct links to program registration
  • Translation into nearly 100 languages
  • Accessibility features in compliance with 2026 federal standards

The upgrade of the website at nbparks.org took place during the overnight hours of October 19 to minimize disruption to customers and staff.

The process kicked off in early 2025 with a community survey to solicit input about how customers use the park district’s website, including preferred features and missing elements.

Input was also gathered from park district staff members across departments, including frontline customer service staff.

Based on the feedback received, the website redesign centered around three main areas — content, navigation and design — all with improving user experience as the main goal of the project.

“The redesign was a complex operation that took place over the last few months,” Scovic said. “I would like to especially thank Michael Noens, our extremely talented marketing and communications manager, who served as project lead and closely and carefully supervised this process from start to finish.”
