Built inside the Stonegate subdivision, north of Willow Road and west of Landwehr Road, the park offers two play areas, two baseball diamonds, two tennis and six pickelball courts, picnic tables and a shelter, a seasonal soccer field, path and a parking lot.

History

Stonegate Park originally consisted of 6.15 acres. The Park District had purchased one-quarter acre, and the Red Seal Corporation, a developer, donated the rest. The West Northfield School District, which had acquired 4.46 acres from the developer, sold that parcel to the Park District in 2001.  The Park District received an Open Space Land Acquisition Development (OSLAD) grant to help offset construction costs. The official dedication was held on October 30, 1999, and a plaque at the site honors Northbrook resident Marcia Marshall for her efforts in getting the subdivision built. She had organized the West Northfield Coalition, which worked with the Village to keep developers from turning the land into commercial property.
