Techny Prairie Activity Center will be fully closed August 20-24 to perform scheduled preventative annual maintenance. During this time, staff members will be taking proactive measures to maintain and improve the facility’s amenities.
August 2026 Maintenance Projects
- Refinishing the gymnasium and fitness studio floors
- Deep cleaning the indoor track
- High dusting throughout the facility
- Rotating fitness equipment
- Deep cleaning the fitness floor
- Performing preventative maintenance on fitness equipment
The facility will partially reopen on Tuesday, August 25. The gymnasium and fitness studios will remain closed until August 30 to allow floors to cure after refinishing.
Please Note: Some group fitness classes will take place at other Northbrook Park District facilities during the temporary closure. Please view the Group Fitness Schedule for more information. Drop-In Open Gym activities will also be offered at Greenbriar Gym during the extended gymnasium closure.
