Spy some shadows, hang with a hedgehog and explore the deep blue sea this summer at the Northbrook Theatre!

Northbrook Theatre is teaming with Sea Beast Puppet Company to present a summer Puppetry Series featuring a variety of creative performances and storytelling. Audiences will enjoy entertaining twists on classic and original tales that are appropriate for young children and family audiences.

“Puppets are an excellent way to spark children’s imaginations and we’re excited to bring the Puppetry Series to Northbrook Theatre,” said Erin Sweet, Performing Arts Manager. “This is a unique opportunity for families to experience a different style of entertainment with a fun twist on traditional stories. Besides, who doesn’t love a puppet show!”

Following each performance, audiences will have a chance to participate in a Q&A with the puppeteers and the puppets.

Showtimes are 10am at Northbrook Theatre, 3323 Walters Ave. Upcoming shows include:

• Surf and Turf, Saturday, May 18: Rediscover classic stories of Stone Soup and Rudyard Kipling’s How the Whale Got His Throat. Recommended for ages 3 and older.

• Hans My Hedgehog, Saturday, June 22: Meet a little boy who is very different in this retelling of the Brothers Grimm story. Recommended for ages 5 and older.

• Best Day Ever, Wednesday, July 24: Join us for an exciting adventure into Shadowland, when two puppeteers turn into puppets themselves! Recommended for ages 5 and older.
