Team up with the Northbrook Park District! The Youth Soccer program puts an emphasis on the development of the child as an individual and an athlete, rather than just on the competitive aspect of winning. The program strives to provide a fun and safe atmosphere where children can learn respect, sportsmanship and skills. All players receive equal playing time and are introduced to all positions. We offer soccer programming in the spring, fall and winter.

Northbrook Park District Fall Youth Soccer Leagues, Camps and Clinics

Northbrook Park District Fall soccer season is right around the corner.  Below you will find links to all our fall soccer offerings starting in August. Having fun and making sure all our participants, coaches and families are safe this upcoming season is a top priority and if you have any questions please let me know.  We will be getting a safety guidelines Q and A out in two weeks that will answer many of the questions you have regarding the upcoming season. Check out all our upcoming fall soccer programs below.  Spots are filling up quickly! Click a program for more information and to register.

Team Formation

Teams are organized by grade, school and gender but may be combined if necessary. Staff will contact you if changes are needed. Players will be added to teams with space available in the order of registration.

Rosters and Schedules

Coaches will contact players 1-2 weeks prior to the first scheduled game. Game schedules will be emailed to all registered players.

Equipment and Uniforms

Outdoor Soccer: The Park District provides uniforms (jersey, shorts and socks) that should be worn to all games, unless temperatures warrant sweat pants. Each player is responsible for the following: all-purpose athletic rubber cleats, shin guards and a ball (size #3 for pre-K-grade 2, #4 for grades 3-6)

Indoor Soccer: Wear exercise pants or shorts with shin guards and athletic
shoes. Cleats should not be worn for indoor soccer. T-shirts are provided.

Outdoor Soccer: Practices start one week before games; coaches will announce days, times and locations. Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade play on Saturdays. Grades 3-6 play on Sundays but may play select games on Saturdays. Grades 5-6 may play teams outside of Northbrook. Each team will play 7 games, weather permitting.

Indoor Soccer: League format is games only. Games begin on January 19.
Game times are between 12-5pm. Teams play six games at Greenbriar School.

Coaches Needed:

Interested in coaching? Volunteers are needed to coach our youth for approximately three hours per week; no experience is necessary.
Not sure if you have what it takes? The Park District will conduct preseason training with an emphasis on player and skill development, sportsmanship and fun.
To volunteer, call the Village Green Center at 847-291-2980 or download the coaching application in the Forms and Downloads section at the bottom of this page.

Coaches Appreciation Night

Volunteer coaches are a vital component of Northbrook Park District Youth Sports Leagues. As our way of thanking them, we invite all volunteer coaches and their families to attend a Coaches Appreciation Event.

Coach of the Year

The Athletics Department wants to honor the coach who best embodies the standards and values of Northbrook Park District Youth Leagues. Nomination Forms are available at nbparks.org and will be distributed with preseason information. The forms can be submitted at any time. We are looking for coaches who have gone beyond the standard expectations with exemplary sportsmanship, training, team organization and/or commitment. The coach chosen for the award will be honored at the Coaches Appreciation Night.
