August 10, 2022
Families who are interested in enrolling in the Adventure Campus program should complete the Registration Form and Registration forms received moving forward will be automatically added to a waitlist and evaluated on a case by case basis. Enrollment in Adventure Campus is dependent on several factors including schedule requested, staff availability, and facility space. Our goal is to accommodate all families requesting care for their child.

We asked and the community has responded! While the Adventure Campus program is not yet fully staffed for the 2022-2023 school year, the District is making significant progress in hiring new staff for this essential service and have been able to reduce or clear several of the waitlists.

Program and enrollment changes that have been made in the last weeks include:

  • All families who needed AM care have been moved off the waitlists at all sites.
  • The AM care program at District 31’s Winkelman School has been cancelled due to low enrollment.
  • On Monday, July 25 we enrolled 70 students from the waitlist!

Hiring efforts continue. Visit for additional benefit information including increased pay rates and new recreation benefits.

July 13, 2022
On June 20, the Park District launched an aggressive hiring campaign to hire 40 additional staff for the 2022-2023 Adventure Campus program.  The campaign asked those interested to apply by July 11. Since that time we have hired 17 more applicants and are still in the process of interviewing, hiring and placing an additional nine.

We hope to give an update to families on the waitlist in the coming weeks! Thank you for your patience!

With the understanding that Adventure Campus is an essential service to many families in the community, the Northbrook Park District launched a comprehensive recruitment and awareness campaign for site directors and counselors on June 20. At this time, initial results are encouraging and it is anticipated that we will be able to fully serve currently enrolled families for the 2022-2023 school year.

We will continue our extensive recruitment efforts over the coming weeks in order to increase staffing levels to allow us to enroll waitlisted families as soon as possible.
