Looking for an active, entertaining, low-impact sport?

Grab a paddle and head to Northbrook Park District’s Pickleball Skills Clinic. Classes are underway Greenbriar Gym at Greenbriar School, 1225 Greenbriar Lane. A game where tennis, racquetball and ping-pong meet, participants at all levels are welcome, with beginning players learning basic strategy, rules of play and participating in drills to improve ball strokes.

Advanced players develop strategy and tactics, split steps, serves and returns, dinks and third shot drops.

“Pickleball is easy to learn and easy on the body,” said Recreation Supervisor Caterina Mackowiak. “There’s also a great social aspect to the game. It’s an excellent way to make new friends while staying active.”

Upcoming Pickleball classes include:

  • Sundays, through March 3, 11am-noon
  • Wednesdays, through Feb. 27, 7:30-8:30pm

Balls and paddles are provided. Players also may bring their own paddles. Classes are open until full. Register  here today.

Drop-in Indoor Pickleball also is available at Greenbriar Gym and the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Ave.
