If so, hurry up and apply for a position as counselor for the Northbrook Park District’s after-school program, Adventure Campus. You can be eligible for a $1,000 bonus if you apply by Aug. 11.

The Meadowhill Aquatic Center Bathhouse and Mechanical Upgrades Project has been identified as an eligible project for an Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) in 2024. To gather the community’s input regarding project plans for upgrades, the District is hosting an open house on Tuesday, August 1 from 6-7:15pm at Meadowhill Aquatic Center.

The Northbrook Park District is excited to celebrate the new playground at Stonegate Park this summer! A Grand Re-Opening Party is planned for Saturday, July 1 from 11:00am to 12:30pm at the park. The event is free and open to the public. Activities will include DJ entertainment, complimentary ice cream while supplies last, a face painter, balloon artist, games, activities, refreshments, giveaways and a free prize drawing.

The Northbrook Park District is hosting the 15th annual Liberty Loop 5K and Liberty Lap one-mile fun run for kids on Saturday, July 1 at 7:30am at Techny Prairie Park & Fields. This tradition brings together the early risers of Northbrook for a fun, active way to celebrate with friends and family. Registration for both events is available online.

The Village of Northbrook and Northbrook Park District are once again collaborating to bring a new adult only event to Village Green Park in the heart of downtown Northbrook. Grapes on the Green, a summer wine tasting event, is scheduled for Saturday, June 17 from 4pm to 8pm. Presale tickets are $49 and tickets at the gate are $59, if available. Non-wine tasting tickets are $39.

Tuesdays in the Park is back in full swing this summer with a seven-night lineup of crowd-pleasing musical acts ranging from blues, country and swing to Caribbean rock and an all-women Beatles cover band. The popular outdoor event takes place at Village Green Park, 1810 Walters Avenue, in the heart of downtown Northbrook from June 20 through August 8, 2023.

Northbrook 4th of July Parade applications are now open and community groups are invited to be a part of this decades-old Northbrook tradition. The 4th of July Committee, comprised of staff members from the Village of Northbrook and the Northbrook Park District, is currently accepting applications through Thursday, June 15.

The Leisure Center Renovation Project has been identified by staff as eligible for a Park and Recreational Facilities Construction Program (PARC) grant award through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). This grant application is a priority as Northbrook Park District continues to enhance our community by providing outstanding services, parks and facilities through environmental, social and financial stewardship.

The Northbrook Park District sees the potential donation of land from Erickson Senior Living as an opportunity to preserve open space and provide recreational services to the community. Park District staff and consultants are working diligently to understand the condition of this property located at the former Green Acres Country Club site.
