Celebrate the 4th of July while staying active for a good cause during Northbrook Park District’s Virtual Liberty Loop 2020.

All profits from the 5K will be donated to Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook, which provides mental health and emotional support to children and adolescents. To participate, simply walk, jog or run the distance of 3.1 miles at home, around the neighborhood, in a park or on your treadmill anytime on July 4. Snap a photo of yourself and your tracker, pedometer or treadmill console with your finishing time. Images must be uploaded at nbparks.org/liberty-loop by 11:59pm on July 4. “Hosting the Liberty Loop as a virtual 5K this year gives us an opportunity to still provide this annual tradition and support a wonderful organization,” said Recreation Supervisor Cameron Edelman. “Fourth of July is always an amazing day in Northbrook and the community can start the holiday as they always have—by running the Liberty Loop 5K—but this year they can sleep in and race anytime throughout the day!”

Finisher photos will be entered to win a gift card to Francesca’s North, with all submitted images posted on the Northbrook Park District’s social media pages. Top finishers receive medals.

The event is open to participants ages 6 and older. Cost is $10 per person. Register at nbparks.org/online-registration.
