Head out and play in July with the Northbrook Park District and the National Recreation and Park Association.

July is National Park and Recreation Month and we have plenty of ways to enjoy active fun at our parks and facilities. With “Game On!” as the theme for 2019, the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is encouraging all ages to lace up and get in the game all month long.

The Northbrook Park District offers a variety of spaces to play, including ice rinks, basketball fields, soccer fields and bocce and pickleball courts.

Play a round of golf while experiencing nature at Sportsman’s Country Club—walking the Classic 18 is about 5.5 miles. New sessions of group fitness classes begin soon at the Leisure Center—dance to a healthier you in Zumba, WERQ or BollyX or check out our low-impact workouts, including Yoga, Tai Chi, or Sit and Be Fit.

You also can splash away all summer at our award-winning Northbrook Sports Center Pool or Meadowhill Aquatic Center.
Tale the challenge at our special events, including Youth Triathlon August 3 and Northbrook After Dark August 16.

July has been designated as Park and Recreation Month since 1985. A program of NRPA, the goal is to raise awareness of the vital impact that parks and recreation has on communities across the U.S.
