The Northbrook Senior Center, in partnership with North Suburban YMCA will hold two Food Pantry Drive-By Drop Off events in 2023 to support the nutrition assistance efforts of the Northfield Township Food Pantry by collecting non-perishable donations that can make an immediate difference to those experiencing food insecurity.
May 19, 2023 from 11am-1pm in the Leisure Center Parking Lot, 3323 Walters Ave, Northbrook
November 16, 2023 from 11am-1pm in the North Suburban YMCA Parking Lot, 2705 Techny Rd., Northbrook
Items on their ‘Most Wanted’ list include:
- Oatmeal
- Coffee
- Tea
- Granola Bars
- Canned fruit (fruit cocktail, peaches, pears, pineapple, mandarin oranges)
- Canned protein (chicken, salmon, tuna, beef stew, chili)

Both locations also have bright yellow Northfield Township Food Pantry bins located inside their buildings near the front entrances year-round. Anyone interested in donating non-perishable items can do so all year long. When donating, please consider items with at least a 6+ month shelf life.
