The Northbrook Senior Center, in partnership with North Suburban YMCA will be holding a Food Pantry Drive-By Drop Off to support the nutrition assistance efforts of the Northfield Township Food Pantry by collecting non-perishable donations that can make an immediate difference to those experiencing food insecurity.
November 16, 2023 from 11am-1pm in the North Suburban YMCA Parking Lot, 2705 Techny Rd., Northbrook
Items on their ‘Most Wanted’ list include:
- Oatmeal
- Coffee
- Tea
- Granola Bars
- Canned fruit (fruit cocktail, peaches, pears, pineapple, mandarin oranges)
- Canned protein (chicken, salmon, tuna, beef stew, chili)

Both the Northbrook Senior Center (3323 Walters Ave) and the YMCA (2705 Techny Rd.) also have bright yellow Northfield Township Food Pantry bins located inside their buildings near the front entrances year-round. Anyone interested in donating non-perishable items can do so all year long. When donating, please consider items with at least a 6+ month shelf life.
