55 Years and Older
If you love looking at images and enjoying stories of Old Chicago during the late 1800s and beyond, then you will want to attend this multimedia presentation by Errol Magidson entitled “Chicago’s Only Castle: Stories of Chicago.” The history of the Castle, built in 1886, and its residents is tied to the history of Chicago, particularly the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893, the cable car era, the dawn of the automobile, and the World’s Fair of 1933. Errol is working on the second edition of his book “Chicago’s Only Castle.” There will be over 500 images in that book, some of which he will show as part of his presentation. Errol was a featured speaker at the Newberry Library in Chicago and on the Rick Kogan “After Hours” radio program. His documentary was shown on PBS and at the Chicago History Museum. If you enjoy history, you won’t want to miss this engaging presentation.
