Make memories this 4th of July weekend with a fun mix of community traditions and new activities!

All ages are sure to enjoy a robust lineup of festivities, while connecting with friends, family and neighbors.

The schedule includes:

Saturday, July 3

  • Dawn-Dusk – Pop-Up Pickleball in downtown Northbrook; visit il.us/pickleball for more details
  • 7:30am – Liberty Loop 5K Race; visit org for more details and to register (deadline: July 2)
  • 9am – Liberty Lap Fun Run; visit org for more details and to register (deadline: July 2)
  • 9am-5pm – Northbrook Public Library open
  • 10am-8pm – Meadowhill Aquatic Center open; visit nbparks.org for complete schedule
  • 3-5pm – Music at Village Green Park; Night Baby (Rock ‘n’ Roll Cover Band) in the southwest corner of the park
  • 3-5pm – Northbrook History Museum reopens; celebrate the Museum’s 45th birthday and the nation’s 245th birthday
  • 7-9pm – DJ performance* at the Velodrome at Meadowhill Park
  • 9pm (Dusk) – Ferris Bueller’s Day Off movie* at the Velodrome at Meadowhill Park

 

Sunday, July 4

  • 10am-6pm – Meadowhill Aquatic Center open
  • 7-9pm – DJ performance* at the Velodrome at Meadowhill Park
  • 9pm (Dusk) – Fireworks* at Meadowhill Park and Techny Prairie Park and Fields

*Blankets are encouraged, chairs not allowed in some areas.

4th of July Decorating Contest

Residents and businesses are invited to enter. Registrants receive a decorating pack including a custom 4th of July sign, streamers, balloons and other items for a festive display. Pictures of each display will be posted on the Village’s Facebook page for voting. The three displays with the most votes will win gift cards to Northbrook restaurants. Register at northbrook.il.us (deadline: June 25).

Neighborhood Bike Parades, July 3-4
Sign up to host a neighborhood bike parade on your street. Registrants receive party packs including sunglasses, pinwheels, mini flags, and more items for a festive parade. The Village will drop off and pick up traffic-control barricades (maximum time of two hours). Register at northbrook.il.us (deadline: June 25).
