The Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) presented the District with the Outstanding Facility Award for outstanding achievements in recreation facility design and development of the new Sports Center Pool. The Northbrook Sports Center pool opened last June and facility provides recreational elements for all ages.
The Northbrook Speed Skating Club, an affiliate of the Park District, has produced an Olympic skater every Winter Games since 1952. This winter two athletes will be representing the Club. Glenbrook South alum Brian Hansen, 27, is heading to his third straight Olympic Games. He finished seventh in the 1,500 meters at the 2014 Games …
For the 24th consecutive year, the District has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) as well as the Distinguished Budget Presentation for the 16th consecutive year. Teams Elite finished first place in all four divisions at the 2018 Midwest Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships in Wichita, Kansas, last weekend! Juvenile, Novice and Intermediate teams are headed to Portland, Oregon, to compete at the U.S. 2018 Synchronized Skating Championships.
