The Northbrook Park District is pleased to offer a new theatre program for aspiring actors in grades 3-5. Young children will have the opportunity to grow through the performing arts as they work with professional staff and perform onstage—an exciting and rewarding experience.
For more than 30 years, the award-winning Northbrook Theatre Children’s Company has presented “theatre by youth for youth.” The actors are in grades 6-9 and perform age-appropriate plays and musicals suitable for family viewing.
Northbrook Theatre's Community Theatre program auditions for their annual production in April and performs in June. Community Theatre productions have included Oliver!, Big Fish and Mary Poppins. This program is open to adults and youth 10 years old and above.
This professional theatre company is dedicated to presenting the highest quality shows to and for young people and family audiences. We are one of a very few theatres in the Midwest operating under a Theatre For Young Audiences Agreement (TYA) with Actors’ Equity Association, the national union of Actors and Stage Managers.
The North Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA) produces this theatre program for teens with special needs. Participants are joined by volunteer Creative Companions (CCs) and Northbrook Park District Theatre staff to help facilitate a professional production.
Bring your group to our professional theatre shows for entertaining and educational productions.

Campers enjoy a taste of the theatre as they become involved in the production of a musical and take creative elective classes in dance, singing and acting, taught by theatre professionals and educators. Campers audition on the first day, and the workshop ends with a performance on stage.
