SPRING BUNNY TRAIL
(Ref:# 0306-1) On Saturday, March 15, young children are invited to the Village Green for an exciting annual event―?the Spring Bunny Trail. Boys and girls can hunt for candy, play games, win prizes, enjoy magic and pose for photographs with the Spring Bunny. The free event begins at 10am, with photos from 10:30-11:30am. The popular egg hunt will begin at Noon for children up to age 3, followed by ages 4 and 5, then ages 6 and 7. No registration is necessary. In case of bad weather, the bunny trail will move indoors to the Northbrook Sports Center, 1730 Pfingsten Road, and each child will receive eggs at the end of the event. Parents can call the weather hotline at (847) 291-2985 on the day of the event for updated information.  ###

GREEN SKATING SPECIAL
(Ref:# 0306-2) Ice skaters who wear green can save some green (money) at the Northbrook Sports Center, as part of a winter promotion the weekend before St. Patrick’s Day. Anyone who wears a green article of clothing during public skating on Friday, March 14, Saturday, March 15 or Sunday, March 16 will receive $1 off the cost of admission. Public skating on those dates is as follows:

    Friday: 10:30am-Noon and 8-10pm (Cosmic Skating)
    Saturday: 4-5:15pm
    Sunday: 3-4:15pm

 Regular prices for public skating sessions are $5 per adult, $4 per youth and $2 for children under age 5, and the Northbrook Park District provides rental skates at a cost of $3 per pair. The Sports Center is located at 1730 Pfingsten Road. For more information, call (847) 291-2993.  ###

BULLS TICKETS FOR TEENS
(Ref:# 0306-3) Go Bulls! Students in grades 6-12 can go to a Bulls Game with the Northbrook Park District on March 14. A special field trip is planned to the United Center to watch the Chicago Bulls take on the Philadelphia 76ers. A bus will depart from the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Avenue, at 6pm and return at approximately 11pm. Parents are welcome to join the group. The fee is $50 for Northbrook Park District residents and $60 for nonresidents. Registration is available at all customer service locations and online at www.nbparks.org. EGG DYEING EGG-STRAVAGANZA
(Ref:# 0306-4) On March 19, children can decorate hard-boiled eggs at an Egg Dyeing Egg-stravaganza from 6-7:30pm at the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Avenue. The colorful craft program is designed for children ages 3 to 10 to attend with an adult. All supplies will be provided, along with pizza and drinks. The fee is $25 for Northbrook Park District residents and $30 for nonresidents. Registration is available at all customer service locations and online at www.nbparks.org. TRIP TO ENCHANTED CASTLE
(Ref:# 0306-6) On March 21, when schools are closed for Good Friday, the Northbrook Park District will take a group of students to the Enchanted Castle arcade in Lombard. The trip is designed for students in kindergarten through 8th grade; participants will meet at the Leisure Center at 9am and should return by 3pm. The fee is $40 for Northbrook Park District residents and $45 for nonresidents. Pizza and soda are included, along with game tokens and coupons. MARDI GRAS PARTY
(Ref:# 0306-7) On Friday, March 7, the Northbrook Park District Senior Center will host a Mardi Gras Party, with food, games, magic and a carnival atmosphere at the Senior Center, 3323 Walters Avenue, beginning at 11:30am. The Amazing Andrew and caricatures by Herb Katz are part of the celebration, along with a prize for the best costume. The fee is $15 for Senior Center members and $25 for nonmembers. This new event is sponsored by Partners in Senior Care, Inc. To register or get more information, call (847) 291-2988.  ###

KREATIVE KREATIONS―?SPRINGTIME BUNNIES
(Ref:# 0306-8) On March 11, children will create cuddly stuffed bunnies in a new program from Kreative Kreations. Designed for children ages 3-12, the program will take place at the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Avenue from 6:30-7:30pm. The children will stuff large bunnies, decorate t-shirts, make bunny collars and fill out birth certificates for their new pets. The fee is $38 for Northbrook Park District residents and $43 for nonresidents. For more information, call (847) 291-2980.  ###

NEW SENIOR TRIP
(Ref:# 0306-10) Seniors will have a chance to experience an electrifying and exotic visual spectacle with a trip to “Kooza,” a Cirque Du Soleil show on July 11 with the Northbrook Park District Senior Center. Registration is underway for that trip and several others. On May 14, the Senior Center will offer Chicago A La Carte, an adventure that combines a visit to a premier wholesale chocolate shop, lunch at a cooking school, a visit to an Austrian bakery and a look at kitchen design at the Merchandise Mart. A few openings remain for a June 4 trip to the award-winning “Avenue Q” at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, with lunch at Scoozi. And, other upcoming trips include “Barefoot in the Park” in June and a visit to the I & M Canal and Starved Rock State Park in July. SAFETY PROGRAM
 (Ref:# 0306-9) On April 2, seniors can learn how to protect themselves from scams and fraud at a class called Be Safe, offered by the Northbrook Park District Senior Center, 3323 Walters Avenue, from 1:30-3pm. NEW PROGRAMS FOR PRESCHOOLERS
(Ref:# 0306-11) The Northbrook Park District is adding three new summer programs for preschoolers, beginning in June. Kiddie Combo Camp will offer boys and girls a mix of music, sports, drawing and science. The staffs of Rock-It Productions, SportsKids, Young Rembrandts, and High Touch - High Tech will team up to offer this combination program on Monday and Wednesday mornings. On Friday mornings, Sports Plus will teach children basic sports skills and enhance physical development for one hour, before or after Kids Korner Camp. And on Thursday mornings, Kindermusik Our Time™ will offer music, stories, crafts and movement with a traveling zoo train theme.
