SPORTSMAN’S GRAND REOPENING
(Ref:# 0621-1) Sportsman’s Country Club is celebrating its 75th Anniversary and Grand Reopening this weekend with a shotgun tournament, special pricing and contests and prizes. Mini-Golf will be $.75 per game, Friday through Sunday. Visitors can guess the number of golf balls packed into a tractor/front end loader and into a super jumbo golf bag. An old Zamboni® (truck-like ice resurfacer) will be on the range for target practice – 3 chances for $.75. And, the Golf shop will offer discounts of up to 75% (guests will pop a balloon to find the amount of the discount).

Sportsman’s Classic 18-hole golf course has been rebuilt to update the design and quality and to provide a more enjoyable game of strategy and skill. The renovation project consisted of regrassing and regrading all the greens, rebuilding and relocating bunkers and changing the fairway contours. Sportsman’s facilities also include a separate nine-hole course, a lighted practice range, a miniature golf course, four putting greens, a golf shop and a clubhouse dining room serving breakfast and lunch. For more information, call (847) 291-2351, extension 3. ###

PARK FEST JUNE 26

Before the concert, four talented singers from Northbrook will compete – Melanie Vitaterna, Cara McKay, Carl Moss and Michael Hall. They’re semifinalists in the iLoveNorthbrook Singing Competition, a contest designed to find the best amateur singer in Northbrook. The singing competition starts at 6:30pm. Food service is available in the park, also beginning at 6:30pm. The singing finals will take place before Park Fest on July 3. Park Fest and the singing competition are brought to you by Barbara Byrne and Kati Spaniak of Prudential Preferred Properties, in partnership with the Northbrook Park District.
