BABYSITTING CLASSES
(Ref:# 0110-1) A two-day co-ed babysitting class will teach the proper techniques of child care, under the guidance of certified Red Cross instructors. The course is offered on January 26 and February 2 from 1-5:30pm at the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Avenue. Students age 11 and older will learn infant care, first aid and emergency procedures and will receive certification after attending both classes. The fee is $85 for Northbrook Park District residents and $90 for nonresidents. Registration is available at all customer service locations and online at www.nbparks.org. VALENTINE BINGO
(Ref:# 0110-2) Senior adults can enjoy a Valentine bingo and lunch on Friday, February 8 from Noon to 2:30pm at the Senior Center, 3323 Walters Avenue. SUPER BOWL PARTY FOOD
(Ref:#0110-3) Adults can learn to prepare Super Bowl party food on Friday, January 25, as part of a new workshop series from the Northbrook Park District, called
“Dishin’ in the Kitchen.” From 6:30-9pm, participants will learn to prepare mozzarella stuffed breadsticks, beef satay, BBQ pulled chicken sandwiches, dip and two desserts. The class will be held at the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Avenue, and the

GLITZY GIRLZ SLUMBER PARTY
(Ref:#0110-4) Glitzy Girlz is hosting a pretend slumber party on Thursday, January 31, from 6:30-8pm, with music, games, snacks and decorating projects. Participants will design an overnight bag, pillowcase, book marker and secret dairy. Popcorn and fruit smoothies will top off the event at the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Avenue. Ages 5-11 are welcome; the fee is $34 for Northbrook Park District residents and $39 for nonresidents. Registration is available at all customer service locations and online at www.nbparks.org. WINTERPALOOZA
(Ref:#0110-5) Young children can sing, dance and play at Winterpalooza with Kid Rock on January 15, from 10-11am at the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Avenue. The program is designed to banish the winter blues with music, instruments, props and creative play based on a winter wonderland theme. Children ages 1-5 years are invited, along with a parent. The fee is $10 for Northbrook Park District residents and $15 for nonresidents. Registration is available at all customer service locations and online at www.nbparks.org. TWO-FOR-ONE SKATING SPECIAL
(Ref:#0110-6) In honor of Valentine’s Day, the Northbrook Sports Center is offering two-for-one prices on public skating, from February 9 through February 14. During public skating times, any couple can skate for the price of one. Adult fees are $5 and youth are $4. The Sports Center is located at 1730 Pfingsten Road. EARLY MORNING FITNESS
(Ref:# 0110-7) Rise and shine for fitness! Beginning on January 14, you can start your day with an indoor walk or jog inside the Glenbrook North Field House. All ages are welcome from 6-7:15am on the 160-meter mondo rubber track. The free program operates on the school calendar, and no registration is necessary. ADULT WATERCOLOR
(Ref:#0110-8) A watercolor class for beginning and intermediate artists will start on January 11, from 9am to noon at the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Avenue. Students will examine works by master watercolorists and learn painting techniques, including brush work, wash painting, color mixing, still life, landscape and figure painting. Individualized instruction will accompany studio time. The fee for 11 Friday morning classes is $229 for Northbrook Park District residents and $234 for nonresidents. SWIM CLASSES START
(Ref:#0110-9) Beginning on January 13, the Northbrook Park District will offer indoor swim lessons at Glenbrook North High School, 2300 Shermer Road, on Sundays. Choices include a

TOT AND KID ROCK
(Ref:#0110-10) Toddlers can sing, dance and have fun with Tot Rock and Kid Rock classes at the Northbrook Park District on Tuesday mornings, beginning January 22. The classes combine simple songs and rhymes, instruments, props and imaginative play. Tot Rock serves children up to 20 months of age. Kid Rock offers two classes. Parents attend the one for children 20-36 months of age, and older toddlers attend without parents. Classes are held at the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Avenue. The fee is $63 for Northbrook Park District residents and $68 for nonresidents. Registration is available at all customer service locations and online at www.nbparks.org. AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM
(Ref:# 0110-13) On January 14 and 15, adults can refresh their driving skills with a two-day class at the Northbrook Senior Center, 3323 Walters Avenue. Geared to drivers age 50 and over, the AARP Driver Safety Program consists of two four-hour sessions, from 9am-1pm both days, with a trained State of Illinois Driver Safety Program instructor. The fee is $10 to cover materials. Any licensed driver may attend, regardless of age, but class size is limited. To register or get more information, call (847) 291-2988. ###
