TEAMS COURSE COORDINATOR
The Northbrook Park District seeks an experienced coordinator for the Teams Challenge Course, responsible for client and staff scheduling and use of the Teams Course and Climbing Wall. The coordinator also assists in the development of course administration processes and effective marketing strategies, as well as the implementation and evaluation of program offerings.

The position requires a college degree, preferably in education, recreation/leisure services, environmental studies or related fields, or comparable experience working with people and programs.  Current certification in Teams Challenge Course facilitation is required. The candidate must have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in the field of environmental education, Teams Courses facilitation and/or related fields. SEASONAL LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE WORKER
The Northbrook Park District is looking for a seasonal worker to perform general park maintenance, landscaping, pruning and flower/shrub bed maintenance. The candidate must be able to load and unload landscaping materials and must have a valid Illinois driver's license. The position requires about 40 hours per week. BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL COUNSELOR
The Northbrook Park District seeks a motivated, creative, and experienced counselor for its after school care program, Adventure Campus. Adventure Campus staff are responsible for leading a group of 20 – 40 school-aged children through daily after-school activities.  Other responsibilities include communicating with parents during drop-off and pick-up and supporting the Site Director with new activity/planning ideas. 1+ years experience working with children strongly suggested. Enrollment in a college degree program in education, recreation or related field (or comparable experience in working with people and programs) is highly desirable. SUMMER CAMP SITE DIRECTORS
The Northbrook Park District seeks mature and enthusiastic Site Directors for 2010 Summer Day Camp from June 21-August 13, 2010. Site Directors are responsible for the planning and implementation of an eight-week camp, including: planning daily theme-based activities and games, supervising 10-20 seasonal camp staff, creating camp calendars and weekly newsletters, communicating with parents, and other duties as assigned. A college degree, preferably in Education or Recreation, and experience working with children ages 3-12 in a camp setting are required. Directors must be available for training from June 15-17. 

SUMMER CAMP COUNSELORS/ JUNIOR COUNSELORS
The Northbrook Park District seeks mature and enthusiastic camp staff for 2010 Summer Day Camp from June 21-August 13, 2010. Counselors supervise 7-10 school-aged campers and assist the Site Director in the implementation of daily camp activities. Activities vary by camp and may include: sports, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, games, science and nature, music, swimming and field trips. A high school degree (or equivalent) and experience working with children ages 3 – 12 are required. Junior Counselor positions are available for those 16 years or older. Junior Counselors assist Camp Counselors with the activities listed above. Counselors and Junior Counselors must be available for training from June 15-17.

LIFEGUARDS/ATTENDANTS/SWIM INSTRUCTORS
The Northbrook Park District is in search of summer 2010 Aquatic Staff in the roles of Lifeguards, Attendants and Swim Instructors. The pool season will start on Memorial Day Weekend and run through Labor Day. Must be 16 years or older. Interested individuals can fill out an application and return to Patrick Griffin at the Village Green Center. Applications can be downloaded from the website or picked up in person at Leisure Center, Sports Center or the Village Green Center. Interviews for the summer pools will start in mid-February. MINI SPORTS INSTRUCTOR – The Northbrook Park District is in search of a qualified candidate to instruct a youth basketball class for 4-6 year olds. Class meets Tuesday, once a week for 45 minutes. Applicants should have a background in athletics or coaching and have the ability to teach basic rules and fundamentals of sports. Previous teaching experience a plus. Must be at least 18 years old. Hiring Wage: $15-25 per hour DOQ. Interested individuals should contact George Baumgardt, (847) 291-2980 or gbaumgardt @nbparks.org for more information.
