The Northbrook Park District is accepting applications for a Seasonal Maintenance Worker II starting at $8.40 per hour. Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license. Strong desire to work and ability to perform manual labor. Will perform routine playground maintenance and clean-up. Assist in all aspects of park maintenance. Ceramics – Creative and energetic person needed to teach clay and ceramic classes for children ages 4-7. Previous experience is preferred, but not required. Qualified applicants will have knowledge of basic hand building techniques, glazing, and firing. Must be able to work flexible hours. Pay is based on experience. The following employment opportunities are available with the Northbrook Sports Center, 1730 Pfingsten Road, Northbrook, Il 60062.
Building attendant Attendants are required to enforce rules, regulations and policies of the Sports Center. Attendants maintain a clean and safe environment through various custodial responsibilities such as sweeping, mopping and dusting. Attendants will be trained on ice maintenance.
Skate Guard Guards must be able to ice skate. Enforces rules of public skating, checks patrons for proper payment and assists in skate rental.

Early Childhood Instructors — Looking for energetic, enthusiastic and motivated instructors for Leisure Center classes for preschool-age children. Applicant should possess 2-3 years experience working with Early Childhood/School-Age children. The Instructor will plan, organize and implement theme-based lessons plans centered on a philosophy of learning through play and discovery. Applicants should be able to work both independently and as a part of a team; strong written and verbal communication skills are required. 5-10 hours per week. Tennis Attendants need for the Wood Oaks Tennis Reservation office. Job duties include but not limited to: Taking reservations, opening and closing building, cleaning courts, and taking fees for reservations. Attendants must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours a week. May 26 to September 1 from 8am to 8pm-shifts are typically four hours long, Sunday through Saturday. $7.75-8.35 per hour. Photographer – needed on P/T basis to shoot digital pictures of Northbrook Park District programs, classes, activities/special events as assigned. This is an ideal position for a local retired photo enthusiast or person who is available especially during the morning and afternoon hours. This is a part time position with hourly wage dependent on your photographic background and photo composition.
Photographer will work for the Park District and will receive assignments during the day, evening or on weekends. You need to own your own digital camera of six (6) mega-pixels or better. We include our photographer’s names in our publications as staff photographers. Photos becomes property of the Northbrook Park District.
Candidates need have good photographic composition knowledge and lots of desire. This position will work with park district staff, residents, in a variety of age-brackets from adult/seniors to preschoolers and teens. This position may require a background check. A driver’s license and proof of insurance is mandatory. Video experience a big plus.
Ability to work mornings and afternoons a priority. Some evening and weekends possible. This is an additional P/T staff position to assist covering busy events and activities. Most shoots are half hour to 40-minutes.
