PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION
(Ref:# 0816-3) Registration is first-come, first-served for the popular Sunshine Preschool, which is adding afternoon classes for children ages 4 and 5 during the 2007-2008 school year. The classes will meet four times a week, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 12:45-3pm, beginning on September 4. Managed by the Northbrook Park District, Sunshine Preschool has a “learning through play” philosophy. Teachers use songs, stories and daily projects to deliver their lessons and focus on individual students with a very caring approach. The children develop educational and social skills while enjoying arts and crafts, music, science and community-based field trips.

Because classes are held at the Leisure Center, students are able to enjoy plays at the Northbrook Theatre, create projects in the ceramics studio, cook in the kitchen, take nature walks and play games in the gym. They also can benefit from intergenerational activities, such as trick-or-treating at the Senior Center and watching the Park Larks practice their singing. Sunshine Preschool provides a warm and comfortable introduction to school, and the schedule follows the local school district’s calendar. To register or obtain more information, call (847) 291-2995. ###
