You can recognize a special person or event in your life through a lasting gift to your community. Tree donations help beautify the community by providing a healthier environment and a habitat for birds and other animals. Bench donations provide places for rest and relaxation, allowing everyone to enjoy the beauty of Northbrook parks. You might want to donate a tree or bench to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary or a milestone birthday or to recognize a mentor, coach or teacher. Trees or benches also can serve as a lasting memory of a close friend or relative.

Tree DonationTree Sponsor Plaque with Reds Garden Center and Park District Manager

A tree donation includes the installation of a 2‐3 inch‐diameter tree and an engraved brass leaf, mounted on a donation wall at the Northbrook Leisure Center. We work hard to ensure that trees are planted where they are needed and where they have the greatest chance to thrive and become part of Northbrook’s heritage. Indicate your top three location choices and tree species on the Tree Donation Request Form, and our Parks and/or Golf Maintenance Departments will review your selections and confirm the best match, based on current needs.

Bench Donation

Bench donations either replace an aging bench or add a bench to locations in need of additional areas for rest and relaxation. Indicate your top three location choices on the Bench Donation Request Form and our Parks Department will review your selections and confirm the best match, based on current needs. As part of the donation, a bronze donor recognition plaque will be attached to the seatback of the bench.

Service Projects

The Park District invites area businesses, scout groups and schools to consider completing a service project. Previous projects have included birdhouse construction, removal of invasive species, flower planting and park cleanup. District staff is happy to discuss ideas for corporate and group volunteer projects.
