When people think of fall activities, more stereotypical ones come to mind such as apple picking, hay rides or visiting a pumpkin patch. Here’s a guide on activities to do at the Park District this Fall.

Fall rates begin in October and until then there is plenty of good weather left to get some practice in and enjoy the beautiful scenery at Sportsman’s Golf Course with the changing trees and vibrant Fall colors coming soon. Book your tee time today on Sportsman’s website.

Tennis & Pickleball
Our tennis courts are heavily used in the Summer so Fall is the perfect time to take advantage and beat the heat. The District maintains 22 outdoor courts that are open through mid-October for your enjoyment, all you have to do is drop-in and play. How is that for easy? And, courts at Stonegate Park and Wood Oaks Green Park have Pickleball lines on them.

One of our newly added amenities in our parks are the Bocce Courts at Indian Ridge Park. With sun canopies on each end of the court, players are blocked from the elements for the most part. Bring your bocce equipment or rent ours and if it’s cooler out, make sure you wear a sweatshirt or light jacket to keep warm!

Don’t Forget about Autumnfest!
If you are looking for more traditional Fall activities, mark your calendar for Saturday, October 7. Our annual Autumnfest event will take place at Meadowhill Park from 2-6pm. Enjoy activities such as Fall hayrides, a petting zoo, “Gary” the pumpkin-crushing dinosaur, and live music. Get all the details on our Autumnfest event page.
