Sports & Leagues—Adult Sports & Leagues
The Northbrook Park District offers a variety of adult athletic leagues and programs throughout the year. Some of the sports offered include adult softball, basketball, soccer and hockey.

Men's 12” & 16” and Co-Rec 14” leagues are offered in the summer and fall. There are a number of different divisions to suit a team of any skill level. Corporate leagues are also offered for area workers who want to play immediately after their business day. All teams play a ten game season during summer and an eight game schedule in the fall. All teams participate in single elimination playoffs. For more information on our adult softball leagues click here.
Men’s basketball leagues are offered during the fall, winter/spring and summer. Teams play an 8-10 game regular season followed by playoffs for the top four finishers. Competitive and Recreational/Corporate leagues are available. For more information on our men's basketball leagues click here.
The Northbrook Park District offers two seasons per year of Adult Men’s Hockey. The fall/winter season begins the first week in October and goes through April. Each team plays an 18- game season followed by a single elimination play-off, in which all teams compete. Click here for more information.
Adult Athletic Programs
Open Soccer—Year Round
Stay in shape, improve your skills and enjoy the game at a beautiful facility. Following a brief warm-up, players divide into teams for games ranging from 3 versus 3 to full field, 11 versus 11. Spring, summer and fall programs are at Techny Prairie Park and Fields; the winter program is at Greenbriar Gym.
Open Gym Basketball—Year Round
The Northbrook Park District holds open gym basketball at Greenbriar Gym. Players pay a fee, enter the gym, choose sides and play a game. For the monthly open gym schedule, click here.
Open Hockey Fitness—Year-round
On Wednesday, Friday and Sunday nights, the Northbrook Park District holds open hockey sessions. Players pay a fee, go onto the ice, choose sides and play a game. For more information regarding open hockey click here.
